For your first skydive you have two options:
a Tandem jump, or the First Jump Course.
If you know you only want to jump once, we recommend a
Tandem skydive. This
will give you the full experience.
If you think you might want to take up the sport, or jump
more than once, we recommend the First Jump Course.
Feel free to come by to check it out for yourself, and watch the
excitement !
We will be happy to answer any of your questions.
It is advisable to call first to check if bad weather has made
us close down for the day.
What’s the difference between a
Tandem jump and the First Jump Course ?
For a Tandem jump you will receive brief instruction before
boarding our aircraft with the Tandem Instructor and your
Videographer. You
will exit the aircraft at 10,000 feet, strapped to the Tandem
Instructor, who will activate and land your parachute.
You will experience approximately 30 seconds of freefall,
and a parachute descent from 5,000 feet.
A Videographer will accompany you on your jump, catching
it all on video. This will be prepared for you on DVD to take
home.
The First Jump Course entails approximately 4.5 hours of ground
instruction, followed by your First Skydive from an altitude of
3,000 feet. Your
Jump Master will deploy your parachute as you leave the
aircraft, and you will be responsible for navigating and landing
your parachute. We will provide radio ground control, guiding
you in to landing.
How do I book a jump, and
how do I pay ?
Call us on the weekend to book your jump, or leave us a message
during the week and we will get back to you. You can also email
us with any questions you might have.
For the First Jump Course you pay before the class starts.
Groups wishing to take advantage of the Group Rates must pay a
deposit of $100 per person the weekend before the course.
For Tandem Jumps we require a $100 deposit per person the weekend before
your jump to secure you booking.
We accept cash, Visa, and bank debt cards, (sorry no Master
Card).
What should I wear ?
The temperature is often a little cooler up in the plane than on the ground,
so bring some layered clothing, but nothing with an attached
hood that can inflate behind you. Running shoes are preferred by
most jumpers.
Where is the landing area ?
We land on private property just south of the airport to stay
clear of the airplane traffic. After your jump there will be a
van waiting to bring you back to parachute center. Spectators
wishing to watch your jump can follow the van to the landing
area. The owner of the field will not allow smoking or swearing
on the property, and for safety reasons spectators are not
allowed on the actual landing field.
What are the weather
restrictions ?
Students are restricted by a 15 MPH ground winds,
and 25 MPH winds for tandems jumps,
to insure everyone can fly safely into the landing area.
Also, to verify the planes position over top of the landing
area,
we visually look out the door before jumping.
So we do not fly in, or over thick clouds.
On bad weather days, please expect delays,
or the need to rebook your jump for another day.
How many people can go in
the airplane at a time ?
Our plane comfortable seats 4 jumpers
which means one instructor and three First Jump students,
or one tandem with video.
Two tandems without video can fly up together,
but only on Sundays, or late Saturday evening.
With large groups, the other jumpers usually watch and take
pictures at the landing area, until its their turn. Then they
will accompany the jump instructors in our van back to the parachute center
for their jump.
Do you offer the Progressive Freefall Program
The PFF Program is a fast-track training system
towards acquiring your rating as a Solo jumper.
It is very intensive, requires strong dedication, and is not for
everyone.
We only have a couple of instructors certified to teach the
program,
so ask us for more details and prices.
